Infosys Unveils Mega Campus in Visakhapatnam

Infosys is set to significantly expand its presence in Visakhapatnam, announcing plans to develop a permanent campus spread across 20 acres . The proposed state-of-the-art facility is designed to accommodate up to 7,000 employees , underscoring the company’s long-term commitment to the region.

The firm’s growth in the city has been rapid over the past two years. From an initial workforce of around 250 employees , operations have scaled up to nearly 1,900 staff . To keep pace with rising demand, Infosys is also preparing to add about 750 additional seats in the near term.

Hiring has gained strong momentum, with the company bringing on board more than 1,000 fresh graduates and over 500 experienced professionals. This expansion reflects a dual focus on nurturing local talent while maintaining global delivery standards .

Infosys attributed its steady growth to Andhra Pradesh’s industry-focused education policies and skill development initiatives, which have ensured a consistent supply of job-ready talent . The state’s supportive ecosystem for IT firms and Global Capability Centres has also helped retain skilled youth , reducing migration and strengthening the local talent pool.

Reacting to the development, IT Minister Nara Lokesh said the expansion highlights the growing potential of the state’s workforce. He emphasized that the government is working to strengthen industry-academia collaboration to build a robust technology ecosystem . Calling the move a milestone , he added that efforts are underway to attract more IT investments and position Andhra Pradesh as a global technology and innovation hub.
