
CJI lays foundation for judicial projects in Amaravati, offers prayers at Tirumala
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy and the Judges’ Guest House and Club in Amaravati, and inaugurated a judges’ residential enclave.
According to the Capital Region Development Authority , the Judicial Academy will be built on 4.83 acres to accommodate 120 trainee judges and 60 faculty members. The Guest House and Club project has an approval of ₹69 crore, while the 33-acre residential enclave, with 36 bungalows, has been cleared at a cost of ₹492.3 crore. Supreme Court judges PS Narasimha , Ahsanuddin Amanullah , and Prasanth Kumar Mishra attended the event.
Earlier, the CJI offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala during his maiden visit after assuming office. He was received by officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and participated in temple rituals. No other accompanying dignitaries were mentioned.
He also laid the foundation stone for a new court complex in Tirupati before proceeding to Amaravati and later left for New Delhi in the evening.
